Special features of the concealed hinge
As the name suggests, concealed hinges are invisible, at first glance, of course. They have a completely different construction than standard surface or roller hinges.
Installation of concealed hinges requires special treatment of both the frame and the sash. To make installation easier, dedicated templates have been created for this purpose, which precisely mark the necessary processing. The hinges are mounted in the so-called door cover (inside of the frame and sash). This creates the effect of a uniform, flush surface. When the door is closed, the hinges are not visible either from the inside or from the outside. We can see them only after opening the door sash.
Appearance
And basically the apparent lack of appearance. Doors equipped with concealed hinges, when closed, look as if they had no hinges at all. The key advantage of this solution is aesthetics and minimalism as well as uninterrupted design of the door panel. And these in recent years tend to be very diverse and unusual in materials, patterns, inlays.
The use of invisible hinges eliminates the need to match the color of the hinges to the door sash or frame. In order to completely hide the fittings, it is worth analyzing the insertion of a flush pull handle hidden in the door leaf panel. We can illuminate it with LED strip and get a very elegant entrance door.
Safety is of course a priority when choosing an entrance door. Door fittings play one of the most important roles in terms of security. The systems used in hidden hinges are reliable and durable, do not require maintenance and lubrication. They perform their function with lightness and ease for many years. Smooth adjustment on 3 planes definitely facilitates the perfect positioning of the door sash in relation to the frame.
The hinges have an opening limit of 110°, and therefore it is necessary to use a door stopper, e.g. WST03 from WALA, in order not to mechanically damage the hinges.
